Two Empty Boxes

I was sending out a couple of orders today for Seller to Stellar and realized they were the last copies in the box. I called out to the house, "I got an empty box!" No one responded.

I called out again, "Hey, I sold a box of books and the box is empty!" Dead silence! The only response I got back was from the TV from a sports broadcaster calling the Cleveland Indians game that my family was watching. I smiled, shrugged, and sat down in my chair and embraced the moment. Those empty boxes were a symbol of the years of effort that went into the book. Customers were finally able to purchase it, read it, and apply it to their business and own family was not impressed with the empty box of books. Ouch. But, it was a good lesson for me and one I hope you can apply or share this week with friends or colleagues.

When I got to the end of two empty boxes.... I was so excited. I was so proud of my empty boxes. I thought everyone else would feel the same way about my empty boxes BUT to everyone else, it was just an empty box.

Empty boxes are everywhere especially with all the deliveries we get everyday from Amazon Prime.

As I sat there I thought, "the empty box don't mean anything to me either but they are significant for what they represent"

So why are these empty boxes significant?

  • Those empty boxes symbolized hard work that I had completed when no one was watching or even awake.

  • Those empty boxes symbolized that if the person that bought one of those books, read it, and applied it ....that it could change their career or life.

  • Those empty boxes symbolized my dream becoming a reality.

  • Those empty boxes symbolized what we are all capable of if we put in the work.

It was at that moment that I realized that we all have boxes that are full and with enough work, effort, and obsession we can empty them. One box at a time.

Now go empty some boxes this week,

Jordan Winar
